"Waiting for Godot" is one of those pieces were I am confused 98% of the time and understand it only in the last 2%. I feel like this is a common thread in the works and topics that we cover in this class, they are super confusing and make no sense until the last couple chapters, the final line, the conclusion. This is why this class makes me feel smart and dumb at the same time. In "Waiting for Godot," I now understand that Gogo and Didi are humanity, Godot is God, and the void that they wait in is life. Even though the end meaning is as simple as that, it still baffled me until the end. That's one thing that I feel like this class is definitely helping me understand. I have a better grasp on how authors use abstract concepts and symbolism to accomplish their end message. Personally, I used to wonder why they would make it so complicated instead of just going out and stating it, but I feel I now understand. When you can actually figure out the message for yourself, you have a deeper connection with it and understand it better than just believing what you are told. Maybe that's the ultimate message here, if you just listen to what everyone tells you at face value and take it, make your own interpretation.
